How to I connect a DTA to my TV?
(1) Connect cable coax from wall outlet to "Cable In" on DTA box

(2) Connect cable coax from "To TV" on DTA box to your TV or VCR

(3) Plug power adapter to "12V DC In" on DTA box and plug into wall outlet

(4) Turn TV on and set to channel 3

(5) Program your Universal remote to DTA or program the DTA remote to your tv (instructions included)

How do I know if I have a QAM tuner?
All flat-screen TV's since 2007 (except for small, portable TVs) have a QAM tuner. However, to be certain, you can check your Owner's Manual for your TV under the Antenna/Tuner section or do a "channel scan" from your remote. When you scan channels, if you pick up any channels like 2.1, 8.1, etc (#.#) that means you have a QAM tuner. In fact, if your remote has a period button (.) or a dash button (-) it probably has a QAM tuner so you can manually enter in channels like "19.1"

How is TCC distributing the DTA boxes?

Initially, we will mail you the DTA boxes upon. We will also have DTA boxes available for pick-up at our sales offices in Strum and Independence, as long as you call or email in advance so we can keep track.

Will I have to program anything on the DTA box?

No, the DTA is already programmed for our system. However, you may wish to program your Universal Remote to the DTA or program the remote that comes with the DTA to your TV if you wish to use either remote for your channel/volume/tv functions. The DTA remote comes with instructions for programming to your TV. Your universal remote did as well, but let us know if you have questions or problems.

When do I need to have my DTA's hooked up?

TCC will begin converting analog channels to the digital format by the end of November, 2011. We will have all analog channels (Basic cable channels) converted within a matter of weeks to months. If you do not have either a TCC receiver, DTA box or TV with a built-in QAM tuner, channels that TCC converts to digital will no longer tune in. We strongly urge you to see how many DTA boxes you need and order them from us now instead of waiting until we begin converting stations.

Do I get any new channels or services with the DTA?

Yes, the following channels were added to the Basic Package: Bravo!, CNBC and ThisTV. (they are broadcast in a digital format so a DTA, QAM tuner or DCT/DVR is needed to view them)

Otherwise, the DTA is simply a box for converting Basic Package channels to your TV. It does not include an interactive channel guide or access to premium programming like our DCT and DVR receivers.

Can the DTA box be hidden or does it have to be in a line of sight?

You may leave the DTA on top of your TV/other unit or you can attach the DTA box to the back/side of your TV using the included velcro. It just needs to have reasonable distance/communication with the remote control.

How do I connect/record with my VCR now?

Connecting your VCR with a DTA box is easy but there are a couple changes to the way you will record. To view our instruction page (pdf document) click here.

What if I have questions or need help?

Just call or stop in to TCC. We would be happy to assist you through this change. We do apologize for any inconvenience, but we strongly feel this is the right move for going forward and we thank you for your patience!
